Lakeland revs up meetings on $50M school
The Lakeland school board is hosting special neighborhood meetings on the $50 million middle/ high school proposal:
- 7 p.m. Aug. 28 at Lakeland City Hall for Creekside Manor.
- 5 p.m. Sept. 2 at the I.H. Clubhouse (4523 Canada Road) for The Pointe and Woodland Park.
- 6:30 p.m. Sept. 3 at the I.H. Clubhouse for Herons Ridge.
- 7 p.m. Sept. 8 at the I.H. Clubhouse for Garner Lake and The Grove.
- 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at New Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church for the Northern Lakeland Association.
Other members of the public are also welcome to attend any of the meetings.
The board also has called a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 28 on:
- Moving the September meeting to 7 p.m. Sept. 16
- Changing the Oct. 13 meeting to 5:30 p.m.
Bartlett’s July unemployment figures released
July unemployment numbers for Barlett show a 0.1 percent increase from June but a 0.1 percent decrease compared to July 2013. With a labor force of 28,610, the city had 26,590 employed and 2,020 unemployed last month.
