Rain delays have pushed back the completion date for renovations to Arlington’s Fire Station No. 71. Fire chief David Franks said Monday the original target date was Aug. 1, but he now hopes to see the renovations completed by Sept. 1.
Expansions on the north and west side of the existing station will add 1,480 square feet to the facility. Changes will include an expanded kitchen to accommodate three shifts, more storage space, a larger bathroom, a library, space for six beds, a day room and a workout room.
The fire department was temporarily relocated to the old Public Works building while Keystone Construction tackles the renovations.
