Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) will host the Annual College Goal Tennessee Event 1-7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Student Center on the Dyersburg campus, and also at the Jimmy Naifeh Building, Rooms 141 A and C at the DSCC Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County.
College Goal Tennessee is a statewide event being offered at 29 sites in January and February. It gives free information and assistance to Tennessee students and their parents applying for financial aid, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as well as grants, scholarships and loans.
Students and their parents are encouraged to bring current bank statements, a driver’s license (if any), an alien registration card for non-U.S. citizens, and any untaxed income records for the previous year, such as Social Security, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, and welfare or veteran’s benefits records.
Students and parents are also asked to bring their 2014 federal tax information.
If their latest tax information is not available, they should bring the prior year’s tax forms.
