Victoria’s Secret is closing 53 more stores in the U.S., according to an announcement last week by its parent company, L Brands.
A spokesman said Monday that the company is not releasing a list of stores to be shuttered over the next year but noted that the closures represent less than 5 percent of their total store count.
Currently, there are three Mid-South locations at Saddle Creek in Germantown (7615 W. Farmington Blvd.), Wolfchase Galleria in Memphis (2760 N. Germantown Parkway) and Carriage Crossing in Collierville (4600 S. Houston Levee Road).
The announcement of upcoming closures comes on the heels of closing 30 Victoria’s Secret stores in 2018.
Stuart Burgdoerfer, the company’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, explained the move during L Brands’ earnings call on Feb. 28. He said the decision was “based on the overall performance of the Victoria’s Secret business, not meeting our expectations or having year-on-year declines.”
The parent company also owns Bath & Body Works.
