The motorcycle riders who raced across Arlington at speeds of 80 to 100 mph on April 15 and slammed into an SUV have been identified.
The two injured adults are Racrius Benson, 30, of Bartlett, and Robert Booth II, 27, of Arlington. A preliminary Tennessee Highway Patrol report noted that Booth has multiple surgeries remaining and is expected to be at Regional One Medical Center for more than 30 days. Charges are pending against both drivers.
One had an eight-year-old child passenger from Arlington who received minor injuries. He was released from LeBonheur Children’s Medical Hospital the next day and is doing well, according to his mother and grandparents.
The third driver in the incident was Billy Adams, 51, of Mason. He was able to avoid the crash and was not injured. He was arrested at the scene on charges of driving on a revoked license, failure to yield and financial responsibility law.
The accident happened after they sped through Gallaway, evaded police and ran a red light, with two of them hitting an SUV on U.S. 70.
A Gallaway officer clocked the trio at speeds more than 80 mph through the city before breaking off pursuit.
