As the one-year anniversary nears for the passing of singer/actress Ruby Wilson, “The Queen of Beale Street,” a Ruby Wilson Scholarship Fund has been set up to help a new generation of female singers.

Funds will be managed by the Soulsville Foundation, the Memphis-based nonprofit organization that operates and raises funding for the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, Stax Music Academy, and The Soulsville Charter School, all at the original site of Stax Records.
