Girl Scout cookie sales to aid charities

Memphis, Tenn. — Girl Scouts Heart of the South is suggesting a way to honor mothers this month for Mother’s Day and also help good causes.

Citizens are invited to “Do a Good Turn” on Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the large parking lot across from the Agricenter ShowPlace Arena at Agricenter International.

Purchase Girl Scout cookies that day in pairs, and customers can choose to donate one of them to the charity partner of their choice.

The event is supporting Girl Scouts Heart of the South with cookie sales, as well as helping the Mid-South Food Bank, Memphis Union Mission, the Memphis Police Association Charitable Foundation and the Memphis Fire Fighters Association Charitable Foundation.

Heart of the South is the local Girl Scout Council serving 59 counties in north Mississippi, west Tennessee and Crittendon County, Arkansas.

The cookies are $4 box or $5 for the gluten-free Toffee-tastic. See more information online at girlscoutshs.org.
