Madison Kate Pillow of Bartlett was presented with the Juliette Burnette Memorial Scholarship by Dr. Jonathan Randle, dean for the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Mississippi College.

Colleges and universities have made the following announcements about Mid-South students.

Honors

  • Taylor Brown of Lakeland has been named to the spring dean’s list at Belmont University in Nashville. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
  • Madison Kate Pillow of Bartlett received the Juliette Burnette Memorial Scholarship at the recent Honors Convocation for Missis-sippi College, located in Clinton, Miss. This scholarship is given annually to a student who is majoring in church music.

Graduate studies

  • Sarah McFann from Arlington, a chemical and biological engineering major and graduating senior at the University of Alabama, has been accepted for admittance to the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program. She is among the 2,000 students selected from more than 13,000 applicants. She will receive financial support for graduate studies.
  • Nathan Brayton of Bartlett has been accepted into the master’s degree program in digital marketing and advertising at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. He is a senior at Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C., pursuing a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He will also be working as an IR/HR specialist at Flour Corporation in Greenville.
