The following colleges and universities have announced recent student honorees, graduates and rescheduling of events.
Honors
Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., has named the following Mid-South students to its dean’s list for its most recent semester: Chesney H. Bethea of Bartlett, a freshman pre-pharmacy major; Jessica D. Brewer of Arlington, a freshman history major; and Ezekeil D. Walters of Arlington, a senior sport administration major. Eligible students must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework.
- Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss., has named Sarah Berry of Bartlett and Kaitlyn Moore of Brighton to its fall 2014 dean’ list.
- Eligible students must maintain a 3.5 or higher grade point average, based on a 4.0 grading system. The students must be a full-time student, taking at least 12 hours of undergraduate classes with all credits impacting their grade point average.
- Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., has named Ellen Yining Chai of Memphis to its fall 2014 dean’s list. Chai is enrolled in the university’s College of Arts & Sciences. Eligible students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units.
Graduations
- Ezekiel D. Walters of Arlington graduated from Samford University’s School of Health Professions during recent commencement exercises, earning a bachelor of science degree.
Rescheduled
- Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) of Dyersburg, Tenn., has rescheduled the induction ceremony for Phi Theta Kappa to 7 p.m. March 20 at the Student Center on the Dyersburg campus. Inductees should arrive at 6 p.m., and a reception will be held immediately after the ceremony. The event was originally scheduled for March 6.
