The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi recently initiated the following local residents at the University of Memphis: Elizabeth Vega of Arlington; Kristina Phillips, Kaitlyn Kluth, Chantal Scalzo and Matthew Stepp, all of Bartlett; and Elizabeth Duncan of Lakeland.These students are among approximately 32,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors, having at least 72 semester hours, are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff, and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline honor society.
Joseph Eugene Holley of Bartlett has been named to the fall 2013 Dean’s List at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. Holley is enrolled in the university’s College of Arts and Sciences.

Caitlin McDaniel of Bartlett has received the Midwest Achievement Award to attend Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo., for the 2014-2015 academic year.She is the daughter of Diane Johnson and Robert McDaniel of Bartlett and will be a 2014 graduate of Bartlett High School.
Jefferson Teel of Bartlett has received the Regents’ Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo., for the 2014-2015 academic year. Teel is the son of Tim and Cheryl Teel of Barlett and will be a 2014 graduate of Bartlett High School.
