Colleges and universities have released the following information about area students.

Academic honorees

Ciara S. Johnson of Arlington and Annie Ouyang of Lakeland have been named to the fall 2017 dean’s list at Rhodes College. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must be enrolled in at least 16 credit hours of academic work and must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.70 or better.

Oksana Durkee of Lakeland and Jonathan Thomas of Bartlett have been named to the fall 2017 dean’s list at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. To be included, students must have at least nine credit hours with a grade of A, B, C, or “credit” and at least a 3.5 GPA.

Durkee has also been named to the fall 2017 chancellor’s list. To be eligible, students must have at least nine credit hours with a grade of A, B, C, or “credit” and at least a 3.9 grade point average.

Spencer Nelson of Lakeland has been named to the fall 2017 dean’s list at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Ga. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.

Megan L. Wander of Lakeland, an environmental engineering major, has been named to the fall 2017 dean’s list at Clemson University in Clemson, S.C. To be named to the dean’s list, a student achieved a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

Zachary W. Riedel of Bartlett, a materials science and engineering major, has been named to the fall 2017 president’s list at Clemson University. To be named to the president’s list, a student must achieve a 4.0 (all As) grade-point average.

The following local students were named to the fall 2017 president’s list at Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss.: Emily Berry, Madison Pillow, Shuntavia Rodgers, Christian Thomas and Ellen Weaver, all of Bartlett; and John Shamblin of Lakeland. o be eligible for the president’s list, a student must maintain a 4.0 grade point average, based on a 4.0 system. The student must take a full course load of at least 12 semester hours of undergraduate credit with all academic courses impacting their grade point average.

Kadijah Bold of Arlington and Andrew Croegaert and Lyndsey Huber, both of Lakeland, have been named to the fall 2017 dean’s list for Mississippi College. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must maintain a 3.5 grade point average, based on a 4.0 system. The student must take a full course load of at least 12 semester hours of undergraduate credit with all academic courses impacting their grade point average.

Scholarship winner

Austin Peay State University has awarded Chelsea Diaz, a graduate of Arlington High School, the Dean’s Scholarship for high-achieving freshmen for the summer or fall 2018 semester. This scholarship is for freshman students who have a 3.5+ GPA and 26 ACT or 1170 SAT.
