City to auction off seized goods

The Bartlett Board of Aldermen are expected to approve the sale of 18 items confiscated by law enforcement at their regular session Tuesday night.

The items were products seized by Bartlett police either in relation to drugs or driving violations and range from 1 1976 Chevy Impala to 2008 play stations.

“Most come from drug seizures,” Bartlett Police Chief Gary Rikard said. “We can determine if the proceeds were bought with drug monies and, if so, we can seize them.”

Other property came when authorities made arrests for a second offense driving under the influence (DUI) or driving while license under suspension, Rikard explained.

The auctioned items were valued worth more than $500 and require aldermen approval for dispersal. To see the items to be auctioned go to www.govdeals.com.
