Richard Sevilla, a senior pursuing a master of divinity degree at Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C., was hired before graduation as a pastor at Heritage Baptist Church in Cordova.

Germantown Presbyterian to offer organ and flute concert

Dr. Alex Benford is teaming with special guest and Memphis native Dr. Brittney Patterson to present an organ and flute concert at Germantown Presbyterian Church. The concert will be at 7 p.m. May 10 in the GPC sanctuary, and it is free and open to the public.

Benford and Patterson began playing together five years ago as doctoral students at the University of Alabama, and their musical collaboration bears the marks of their friendship: Historically informed, fun, warm and whimsical.

The program will include works by J. S. Bach, Johann Ludwig Krebs, William Grant Still, Louis Vierne and Naji Hakim, with a nod to George Gershwin.

The church is at 2363 S. Germantown Road, Germantown. For more information, visit germantownpres.org or call (901) 754-5195.
