Central Library enhances Small Business Center with grant, mentors

Memphis Public Library and Information Center's logoMEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Public Library and Information Center recently announced enhanced offerings at its Small Business Center on the third floor of the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library (3030 Poplar Avenue).

The First Tennessee Foundation has awarded the Memphis Library Foundation a $50,000 grant to enhance the Central Library’s Small Business Center collection of books and other materials ranging in topic from business development to social media marketing.

In addition, Start Co. mentors are now hosting weekly mentoring sessions at the Business & Sciences Department of Central Library. Sessions are 2-6 p.m. on Tuesdays, with mentors providing free counseling to small business owners and entrepreneurs, discussing ideas and helping address challenges. They provide practical advice on business planning, financing, marketing and other related topics. To participate, email info@neverstop.co for an appointment.
