Crye-Leike lists Meredith Sanders as new affiliate
Crye-Leike and Jennie Sampson have announced the affiliation of Meredith Sanders. Sanders, a Shelby County resident, will be joining the team as a full time Realtor-Associate at the corporate office on Quail Hollow, Memphis.
That office concentrates heavily on Bartlett and sold five homes in the city just during the first quarter of 2015.
Arlington woman earns leadership role at UTHSC
Tanara Teal-Tate of Bartlett has been named as the assistant director of the Parking Authority for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC).
Her duties include taking a leadership and advocacy role with UTHSC Facilities Administration and Campus Police regarding parking lot planning, maintenance, cleaning, signage, enforcement, and management of special events. She is also responsible for reviewing and updating a comprehensive parking plan to meet the needs of all constituencies and making sure it is consistent with the overall campus plan.
Teal-Tate has a proven track record for successful parking management. Previously employed as a parking manager at the University of Memphis for 13 years, she was responsible for a customer base of approximately 25,000 people. Her responsibilities included the implementation of an online permit system that maximized the operation by reducing wait times. She also served on several committees.
Teal-Tate, who lives in Arlington, Tenn., has a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the U of M. She taught briefly in 2013 after earning a graduate certificate in Local Government Management and a master’s degree in public administration from the U of M. Currently pursuing her doctorate, she is also a member of the International Parking Institute.
At UTHSC, she plans to examine and re-engineer operations and procedures, formulate new policies, and develop and implement new strategies for Parking Services.
Teal-Tate reports directly to the executive vice chancellor and chief operations officer for UTHSC, Ken Brown, JD, MPA, PhD, FACHE.
Teal-Tate married her high school sweetheart, Robert, in 2006. They are the parents of two children — Robert Jr., 6, and Nathan Michael, 3 months.
$250K grant to buy bloodmobile
Lifeblood, the community’s only local, non-profit volunteer blood center, has been awarded a $250,000 grant through The Plough Foundation to buy a new bloodmobile.
“We are grateful that The Plough Foundation recognizes the critical importance of a safe and stable local blood supply,” said Jennifer Balink, vice president of donor relations for Lifeblood. “As a community, Memphis has more patients who need blood than local donors providing it on a regular basis, so reaching more donors in the Memphis area is critically important for treating trauma victims, premature babies, cancer, and sickle cell disease.”
About 60 percent of Lifeblood’s 2014 collections were through mobile blood drives.
Lifeblood anticipates delivery of the new, custom-built bloodmobile in early 2016.
