Beans to bucks: Service Experts offers $10 discount for for food bank donations
Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning in Bartlett (7470 Bartlett Corp. CV. W, Suite 101) is currently offering homeowners $10 off the cost of a furnace tune-up or a service call in exchange for any canned or dry goods donation to benefit Mid-South Food Bank. Turn your beans into bucks!
“Last year we were able to deliver 182 pounds of food to the Mid-South Food Bank, through the generosity of our customers,” said General Manager Dhane Marques. “Of course, we’d like to surpass that delivery for 2016. Since every home should have a heating tune-up before frigid temperatures hit, this is a cool way to ensure your family stays warms and safe while helping feed our neighbors in need.”
A furnace tune-up is also an important maintenance task, because a malfunctioning furnace (even a new one that was poorly installed) can leak carbon monoxide. Keeping the furnace tuned also can help decrease monthly electric bills by 20-30 percent.
The discount offer is good through Dec. 13.

Harold Crye and Dick Leike, co-founders of Crye-Leike Real Estate Services, recently kicked off the company’s celebration of 40 years in business at its 39th annual conference, where over 600 sales associates were in attendance.
Since its founding in 1977, Crye-Leike Real Estate Services has generated over $120 billion in sales volume and sold 629,148 units as calculated by its Chairman of the Board & CEO Harold Crye.
The company started in Memphis, Tenn. in 1977. By 1980, Crye-Leike was ranked the largest real estate firm in the Mid-South with 100 sales associates and three offices.
Today, Crye-Leike has 3,200 sales associates, 800 employees, 87 company-owned offices and 27 franchise offices in nine states. The company has become the nation’s sixth largest among the top 500 residential real estate brokerage firms and the fourth largest privately owned, according to RISMedia’s 2015 Power Broker Report. Crye-Leike also is ranked the largest real estate company in Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and the Mid-South.
President Dick Leike recalled the company’s pivotal moment was when it opened its first branch office in Bartlett, Tenn.
“We also had a 30-minute television show featuring homes for sale on Sunday mornings that ran for 10 years,” he said. “That show positioned us as a leader and innovator in the real estate industry.”
Crye attributes the company’s success to having developed a structured training program for its agents.
Saint Francis-Memphis opens new anorectal center
The Anorectal Physiology Center at Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis is a new outpatient service dedicated to helping those with problems that aren’t as uncommon as you would think. This new center provides diagnostic testing to assess functional bowel disorders, including chronic constipation, prolapse and fecal incontinence.
These disabling, painful, and often embarrassing conditions are estimated to affect 20 percent of the adult population. These conditions can dramatically impact work, daily activities, and the enjoyment of life. Many people fail to seek care or treatment for these conditions because of embarrassment.
No anesthesia is required for the center’s diagnostic procedures, and no surgical procedures are performed. Findings are reported to the patient’s referring physician for management or treatment.
To be seen at the center, patients must be referred by their physician and have had a recent physical and colonoscopy. To schedule an appointment, call (901) 765-1345.
