Now in its seventh year, the achievement celebrates hospitality businesses that have earned great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor over the past year. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months. First Horizon honored for promoting health, multiculturalism

first-horizon-logo-2017Both the American Heart Association and Working Mother magazine have bestowed honors on First Horizon National Corp.

The AHS awarded the company gold-level status as a Fit-Friendly Worksite for championing the health of its employees by promoting physical activity and emphasizing wellness.

“Our employees’ health and wellness are important priorities at First Horizon,” said John Daniel, the company’s chief human resources officer. “We’re committed to providing not only a healthy workplace and environment but also the tools and resources for our employees to live happy, healthy lives through our corporate wellness program.”

First Horizon’s corporate wellness program provides health and fitness challenges for employees and offers incentives such as gift cards for participation. Each year the company hosts health fairs, immunizations and health screenings and sponsors a variety of wellness events for employees and their families.

Working Mother magazine named First Horizon one of the 2017 Best Companies for Multicultural Women, an honor recognizing U.S. companies that create and use best practices in hiring, retaining and promoting women of multicultural backgrounds. The 15th anniversary list is featured in the June/July issue of the magazine and posted online.

The Working Mother Research Institute has conducted the study since 2003, tracking corporations’ progress in promoting multicultural women and evaluating their representation at every level of management and decision-making.

First Tennessee ranked 5th in most reputable U.S. banks

First Tennessee, based in Memphis, is the only bank headquartered in the state to earn a spot on this list.

This is the first year First Tennessee was included in the annual survey by the Reputation Institute. The survey included Federal Reserve banks based on asset size and deposits, plus key regional and non-traditional banks – all with significant retail businesses and/or significant retail brands. More than 12,000 individual ratings were collected for the survey from customers or non-customers familiar with the companies they rated.

The fifth-place is overall. First Tennessee ranks second on the list of most reputable banks among customers and sixth as ranked by non-customers.

Overall, First Tennessee ranks in the Top 5 overall in every category – citizenship, governance, innovation, leadership, performance, products and services, and workplace. In customer ratings, First Tennessee comes in second among all banks in the nation in citizenship, governance, innovation and leadership.
