MIG named top Tenn. lender
Mortgage Investors Group was once again named the top lender in the state by the Tennessee Housing Development Agency, a distinction the company has earned for 13 consecutive years.
The rankings are based on the number of THDA loans closed in CY2015. MIG topped the rankings with 478 loans last year totaling just over $51.4 million.
The numbers represent a 65 percent increase in the number of THDA mortgage loans MIG closed the previous calendar year.
Since 2002, MIG has helped over 5,700 low-to-moderate income Tennesseans achieve homeownership by connecting them with THDA-backed mortgage loans valued at just over $567 million.
THDA Executive Director Ralph M. Perrey praised MIG’s commitment to promoting affordable homeownership.
“We appreciate the hard work by MIG over these past 13 years to help us advance our mission by promoting THDA mortgage loans to eligible homebuyers,” THDA Executive Director Ralph M. Perrey said. “With over 5,700 THDA loans totaling more than a half-billion dollars during that time, MIG has helped thousands of Tennessee families realize the dream of affordable homeownership.”
The large increase in loans closed by MIG during 2015 came after 2014 saw a small decline.
“Being THDA’s Top Lender continues to be a goal for MIG every year. We are honored to be recognized for this accomplishment for a record 13 straight years”, said Steve Smith, Executive Vice President, MIG. “Our loan officers are committed to finding the best mortgage for each and every client and often times that is the THDA product. Helping first time homebuyers is a very rewarding experience and is key to building stronger communities and families. As MIG has grown its business across the state over the last 26 years, we have educated many clients and Realtors about the benefits of the program. It has been a ‘win, win’ for all of us.”
