
A Bolton High School coach was arrested last Thursday for having an ongoing sexual relationship with a teenage student.
Michael Lewis, a teacher and assistant baseball coach at Bolton, was arrested by deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and charged with aggravated statutory rape and aggravated statutory rape by an authority figure.
Police reports indicate that Lewis, 31, had a consensual sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student in his classroom, as well as at his house on the 2800 block of Alfaree.
Lewis’ 31-year-old roommate, Bryan Wilson, a Memphis firefighter and paramedic, was also arrested and charged with aggravated statutory rape for allegedly having consensual sex with a different 17 year old.
Lewis began teaching at Bolton in July 2012. He was suspended without pay pending investigation results.
