The Taj Mahal Trio will perform at 8 p.m. March 20 at the Germantown Performing Arts Center.
A Blues Hall of Fame legend, Taj will be joined by the soulful South African blues of guitarist/vocalist Vusi Mahlasela and the modern rock ‘n’ roll of Fredericks Brown, a band featuring Taj’s daughter, Deva Mahal. While he began his career with the blues, Taj has broadened his scope over the years to include music representing west Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, the Hawaiian Islands, and more.
He has received nine Grammy Award nominations to date and has won two.
