Mr. and Mrs. Paul Black Jr. of Bartlett announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Nicole Black, to Joshua Michael Cunningham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Cunningham of Lakeland.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carpenter of Nesbit, Miss., the late Mrs. Jo Ann Carpenter of Southaven, Miss., Mrs. Faye Black of Coldwater, Miss., and the late Mr. Paul Black Sr.
Miss Black is a 2009 graduate of Bolton High School, and she is attending the University of Memphis. She is a teacher at Sonshine Learning Center in Arlington.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Jo Hall of Collierville, the late Mr. Wendell E. Hall, Mrs. Shirley Cunningham of Lakeland, and the late Mr. William H. Cunningham Sr.
Mr. Cunningham is a 2008 graduate of Bolton High School and a 2013 graduate of the University of Memphis with a bachelor of science degree in engineering technology. He is a product application engineer at ThyssenKrupp Elevator in Germantown.
The couple will exchange vows on May 31 at Fountain South Inn Bed & Breakfast in Olive Branch, Miss. They will reside in Lakeland.
