“Halloween Bash: A Scary Good Time” brought in a big crowd of costumers and partygoers just looking for a fun time Saturday night at Minglewood Hall in Memphis.
The event, designed for people 18 years and older, drew about 150 participants and was a fundraiser for Transformations Autism Treatment Center in Bartlett.
All proceeds will help the center pay for internal facility renovations in order to better serve clients.
“It was a great event,” said John Holtzman, director of finance and development for the center. “We had lots of people say they really enjoyed it, had a great time and were supporting a great cause in our community. We are also making plans for another one next year.”
Doors opened at 8 p.m., and the show started at 9 p.m. with costume judging late into the night. The top prize of $1,000 went to an unidentified woman in an elaborate Edward Scissorhands costume.
Other eye-catching costumes included an extra-tall giraffe, a demonic creature with curled horns, an Egyptian queen, Jack Skellington from “The Nightmare before Christmas,” primitive tribesmen, many mini-skirted vixens, and the scruffy alien from the 1980s TV show “Alf.” See more event photos on the center’s Facebook page at facebook.com/transformingautism.
