Toss the razor, buy a button & celebrate city’s birthday!

From debonaire to scruffy, facial hair of all types will show up in Bartlett this year. For the city’s 150th anniversary, some are opting to put their razors aside for a while and grow their whiskers, Bartlett style, in honor of the city’s 150th birthday this year.
Look for neat goatees, flowing Van Dykes, sprawling mutton chops and even voluminous waxed mustaches.
It’s designed as just a fun activity people can do to raise awareness of the city’s historical celebrations this year, Bartlett Mayor Keith McDonald said Monday. People can join the competitive fun at this year’s Bartlett Festival to see who has the snazziest facial hair or just enjoy the look for now. And in the meantime, it costs just $5 to buy a “Beards for Bartlett” button at the Mayor’s Office in Bartlett City Hall (6400 Stage Road, Bartlett, TN 38134; phone: 901-385-6400).
All funds raised will be donated to a good cause: The West Tennessee Veterans Home planned for Arlington.
