Despite a weather front rolling in and a lake full of fish reluctant to take the bait, Bartlett youths participating in Saturday’s 2014 Children’s Fishing Rodeo came out winners. Most took home stringers of fat fish from a relaxing morning at Appling Lake.

  • Haley Brewer for heaviest fish (7.6 lbs.) in the 7, 8, and 9 age group

Age group winners

  • Age group 6 and younger: Kayden Johson for heaviest string of fish (18.32 lbs.) and most fish caught (13); and D.J. Carpenter for heaviest fish (4.41 lbs.)
  • Age group 7, 8 and 9: Megan Richardson for heaviest string of fish (19.9 lbs.) and heaviest fish (7.1 lbs.); and Adden Tobias, most fish caught (28)
