More homes were sold in Bartlett last month than any other Shelby County municipality not named Memphis. According to the Memphis Area Association of Realtors, sales were up 19 percent in October compared to the previous year. Bartlett had 94 sales last month for a median sales price of $147,250. With 81 sales, Collierville was the next closest suburban municipality. While new home sales took a hit last month, the median sales price was up five percent at $225,490. With 872 sales through October, sales remain up 22 percent, the highest in Shelby County. New home sales for the year are also up 10 percent, with 106 sales through October. The median sales price is $215,375 for new builds. Among Shelby County municipalities, Germantown saw the largest improvement (21 percent) in sales last month. Memphis-area home sales for October were flat from a year ago, with 1,378 total sales recorded. “Sales increased from September to October, so the market remains very active into autumn,” said MAAR President Regina Hubbard. “And average sales price was up a good bit from this time last year.” With 1,280 sales in October, sales in Shelby County were down two percent. Bartlett closed out the year very strong in 2012 with a 45-percent jump in November and December.
