Stephanie Turner, 29, of Bartlett was crowned Mrs. Tennessee International this month and will go on to compete for the title of Mrs. International 2014 during the final competition in Jacksonville, Fla., July 22-28.
Turner, a pharmacist, volunteers for many local organizations and will continue to support The Arc Mid-South and SRVS as her platform during her reign as Mrs. Tennessee International. She has an adult sister with Down syndrome and knows firsthand the issues adults with disabilities face. She plans to advocate for more resources for adults with disabilities.
“I’m so honored to represent the great state of Tennessee and to have the opportunity to promote a cause that is very dear to my heart,” she said. “Through my new role, I hope to reach more people with my message of advocacy and inclusion for adults with intellectual disabilities.”
In addition to each contestant’s charitable platform, International Pageants, Inc. supports the National Heart Association’s Go Red for Women program through volunteer and financial support.
The Mrs. International Pageant is owned and operated by International Pageants, Inc., which also operates Miss International and Miss Teen International pageants. Mrs. International showcases married women 21- to 56-years old and features three categories of competition, including interview, evening gown and fitness wear.
