The Bartlett Police Department handled the following incidents Sept. 5-11. This listing includes the most notable incidents for the reporting period and does not necessarily reflect all police activity.

Sept. 5
Autumn Hill Lane (auto burglary)
A man reported on Sept. 5 that someone stole his Boost Mobile ZTE Max cell phone ($200) from his unlocked vehicle. The vehicle was parked in the driveway. Someone also stole the Tennessee license plate ($110) from the vehicle.
He returned home from work around 4 a.m. and noticed the items missing when he woke up around 11:30 a.m.
Sept. 6
Hidden Fern (theft)
Someone stole 18 squares of shingles from a woman’s yard between 1 a.m. Sept. 4 and 8 a.m. Sept. 6. She reported the theft on Sept. 6.
Millgrove Park (residential burglary)
Someone stole 33 of a man’s D-amphetamine salt combo tablets (an Adderall substitution), he reported on Sept. 6. There was no sign of forced entry into the home, and the medication was the only thing missing.
Davies Plantation Road (auto burglary)
A woman reported on Sept. 6 that someone had stolen her purse from her Honda Odyssey minivan. Items taken included an orange hobo-style Coach purse ($500), three credit/debit cards ($1 each), her Tennessee driver’s license ($1) and about $700 in cash. She estimated the damage to her window to cost $300 to repair.
She said she noticed an unknown skinny black male wearing a neon green shirt watching her.
Earlynn Drive (theft)
Someone stole the Tennessee license tag from the rear of a man’s truck, the victim reported on Sept. 6. The vehicle is a white 1999 Ford F-150 that was parked in front of his home.
Sept. 7
Stage Road (auto theft)
Some thief towed a non-running truck from C&S Alignment (5494 Stage Road), the business owner reported on Sept. 7. The theft happened between 5:20 p.m. Sept. 6 and 8:05 a.m. Sept. 7. The vehicle is a black 1996 Chevy C/K 1500 pickup parked in the shop’s front parking lot.
Bartlett Center (burglary call)
An officer responded to a burglary call at Mathis Tire and Auto (5975 Bartlett Center) at 10:09 p.m. Sept. 7. The glass front door was shattered and the alarm was sounding when the officer arrived.
A shattered brown and tan building paver seemed to be what the burglar used to break the door, and the paver broke into pieces when it his the southern wall of the showroom. A front counter drawer was ripped from the drawer glides, and the drawer facing was lying on the ground nearby.
The store manager said the drawer held the cash tray and about $150.
Sept. 10
U.S. 64 (theft from motor vehicle)
Someone broke into a woman’s SUV while she was shopping at Sam’s Club (8480 U.S. 64), she reported on Sept. 10. She was unsure of the time frame but estimates it was between 5 p.m. and 6:40 p.m.
The suspect punched the lock on the driver’s side door of the Chevy Tahoe, causing $300 in damages. The only item stolen was the woman’s Michael Kors purse ($300) containing her expired Tennessee driver’s license, her birth certificate and her Social Security card.
