The Bartlett Police Department handled the following incidents for Oct. 23-Nov. 6. This listing includes the most notable incidents for the reporting period and does not necessarily reflect all police activity.

Oct. 23
Stage Road (vandalism)
Someone keyed the driver’s door of a man’s truck while it was parked at Mapco (6127 Stage Road) the night of Oct. 23. He parked his red F-150 in front around 8:30 p.m. and returned about 15 minutes later to find the damage ($200).
Oct. 25
Raner Creek Drive (fraud)
On Oct. 25 woman reported two fraudulent attempts to open credit cards in her name. She said Lifelock and OPM (Office of Personnel Management) told her that they stopped someone trying to open a Big Lots credit card on Oct. 19 and a Credit One Bank credit card the next day in her name.
Oct. 26
Marr Cove (theft)
Someone took key components of a rental home’s air conditioning unit ($1,000) on Marr Cove, a property manager reported on Oct. 26. He said the thefts happened on Oct. 13.
He also said that the previous tenants had removed several other items from the home while they were leaving and that they are also suspects in several thefts from MLGW.
Oct. 27
Meadowlark Place (theft from motor vehicle)
An unlocked red Jeep was an invitation to thieves, the owner discovered on Oct. 27. Someone took a Bluetooth Kenwood stereo ($250), $10 cash and a pair of Ray-Ban aviator blue-lensed sunglasses ($130).
She parked the 1997 vehicle on the street in front of her home between 3 p.m. Oct. 26 and about 6:20 a.m. the next morning. The responding officer was able to lift six latent fingerprints with ridge detail from the vehicle’s interior.
Oct. 28
Broadway Street (motor vehicle theft)
A man reported an attempted motor vehicle theft in progress on Oct. 28.
The complainant was watching someone else’s property by request while the owner was out of town. The suspect had been told he wasn’t allowed to take any of the owner’s vehicles. When the complainant saw the suspect crank the owner’s truck anyway, he confronted him and told him to stop. The suspect continued briefly but fled into the backyard when the complainant called law enforcement. Officers located the suspect and detained him on suspicion of motor vehicle theft.
The next day, the truck owner, a Bartlett Boulevard resident, reported that someone had stolen the tailgate ($400) off his 2011 Ford F-250 that was parked in the driveway. There were no witnesses or suspect information at the time of the report.
Oct. 30
Cedar Road (residential burglary)
Burglars stole two large TVs from a Cedar Road home, trashed the homeowner’s daughter’s room and broke several items, as reported on Oct. 30. They gained entry by breaking the windowpane in the kitchen door and unlocking the deadbolt from the inside.
The woman said it happened between 1 p.m. Oct. 29 and 6:23 a.m. Oct. 30.
Oct. 31
Memphis Arlington Road (motor vehicle theft complaint)
A victim reported Oct. 31 that someone stole his mother’s vehicle from the Subway parking lot while he was at work from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. He parked in the row closest to the road and isn’t sure whether he locked the vehicle’s doors.
Nov. 1
U.S. 70 (theft)
A victim filed a Nov. 1 report on the theft of a Bosch 4-inch grinder ($100), his vehicle’s front running lights ($150) and license plate lights ($40). He saw a suspect near his vehicle while it was parked at 6638 U.S. 70 and believes the items were stolen then, but he couldn’t name the date or time.
He said he didn’t realize what the suspect was doing until he was stopped for having no license plate lights and arrested for driving while his license was suspended.
Magnolia Woods (residential burglary)
A male victim returned from work on Nov. 1 to find his home had been burglarized sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Items taken included an older 42-inch Sanyo flat-screen TV ($500) and a Memphis City Schools-issued Apple iPad ($400). The storm door was also damaged.
The police report noted that the storm door appeared to have been kicked open from the inside, causing the top glass to break and the door to come open.
Nov. 2
Bartlett Road (unspecified type of incident)
A citizen turned in 21 different gift cards, IDs and other items she found alongside Bartlett Road on Nov. 2. She approached an officer on routine patrol with what she found.
Items recovered included 12 gift cards, a GNC card, a FedEx prescription card, a Military ID card, an Allstate Insurance card, a Tennessee driver’s license and other miscellaneous cards.
Officers found the owner from his driver’s license information. He said he left his wallet on his dashboard on Oct. 30 while he was at W.J. Freeman Park, the Marco theater on Bartlett Boulevard and then Baskin Robbins. When he returned home, his wallet was missing. Items missing included $120 in cash, a SunTrust card, a Regions card and his Social Security card.
Nov. 5
Sunrise Ridge Circle (trailer theft)
A man went back to sleep after hearing his car alarm go off around 3 a.m. Nov. 5. When he went outside around 6 a.m., he saw that his trailer ($1,200) was missing and the left front passenger side window of his Ford truck was shattered ($500).
He described it as a 2005 Pace American Worksport white enclosed 6×10 trailer, last seen around midnight. It has a “Worksport” sticker on both sides just above the wheels.
He didn’t see anything missing from the truck. The metal toolbox on the truckbed had pry marks, but the suspects didn’t succeed in opening it.
Nov. 6
Stage Road (burglary)
A woman reported Nov. 6 that someone broke into her home the previous morning and stole her son’s iPhone 4, Landmark Construction hoodie, Christian Brothers High School wrestling pants, and black-and-white Nike Sliders. The total value of the loss is $270.
She said the burglary happened between 1:30 and 10 a.m. on Nov. 5.
