The Bartlett Police Department (BPD) handled the following incidents during May 15-21. This listing includes the most notable incidents for the reporting period and does not necessarily reflect all police activity.

May 15
Sugarcrest (vandalism)
A woman reported May 15 that someone broke the solar LED outdoor light on the west corner of Sugarcrest/Old Brownsville Road. The homeowners’ association is the owner.
Grayce Drive (robbery)
A woman said two unknown males robbed her at gunpoint in her driveway around 7:30 a.m. May 15. They drove up from the west in a silver Nissan and stopped next to her vehicle. One man jumped out and entered her vehicle through the driver’s door. The driver also emerged and pointed a black handgun at her, saying, “Don’t move” and “Don’t look at me.”
She described the first suspect as wearing a black mask, black hoodie, black pants and gloves and the second suspect as wearing large dark glasses and a baseball cap and having salt-and-pepper colored facial hair.
Newstone Drive (theft of bicycle)
Someone took a woman’s 18-inch Black Mongoose mountain bike from her patio over the weekend, she reported on May 15.
May 16
Unspecified location (identity theft)
Someone fraudulently used a woman’s identity to get government unemployment benefits from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce, the victim reported on May 16.
She received a letter and an unemployment benefit card on May 5, saying her benefits had been granted on April 16. She immediately went to the office and had them cancel the unemployment benefits and take possession of the card.
Richway Cove (auto burglary)
A man realized around 7 a.m. on May 16 that the driver’s-side door was unlocked and several items were misplaced or missing. While he was reporting the crime, a neighbor walked over to say he’d seen a small car parked along the curb in front of the victim’s home around 5:45 a.m. that morning. Two people were in the vehicle, and the car was of unknown make or model.
May 17
Kings Forrest Drive (vandalism)
A shattering window woke a woman just before 4 a.m. on May 17. She walked outside and saw that her front window was broken with what looked like two pellets or BBs. The responding officers also saw a BB on the window ledge and in a nearby flowerbed.
St. Elmo Road (business burglary)
Officers responded to a burglary in progress at the St. Elmo Road Walgreen’s around 2:40 a.m. May 17. At the scene, they saw a large hole in the pharmacy’s glass window and glass shards all over the ground.
Video evidence showed suspects breaking and entering through a window and then taking various bottles of pills.
The first suspect wore a black hoodie and blue jeans. The second suspect appeared to be wearing a black hoodie as well, with blue jeans.
Memphis Arlington Road (theft)
An employee at the Flash Market on Memphis Arlington Road said that around 4:40 p.m. May 17 a man in a white SUV wanted the gas pumps turned on. The employee said they can’t turn on pumps without a credit card, so the suspect presented one. Then the suspect pumped $50.07 worth of gas into his vehicle and left without paying. The responding officers took the suspect’s credit card into evidence.
May 18
High Plains (theft from yard)
Someone took a Schwinn bicycle and wheelbarrow from a man’s trailer, he reported on May 18. The trailer was parked on the south end of his yard.
May 19
Diplomat Place (auto burglary)
Someone pried open the toolbox on a man’s MLGW truck between 10 p.m. May 18 and 8:30 a.m. May 19, the victim reported. He said the box is always unlocked and he doesn’t keep anything of value inside.
North Germantown Road (dine-and-dash)
A spokesman at Waffle House (2931 North Germantown Road) reported May 19 that a customer walked out between 10:30 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. without paying his bill.
The suspect was described as a dark-skinned black male with short hair, wearing a jean jacket and a white T-shirt. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 160 lbs. The suspect left in a gray Pontiac Grand Am, headed south on Germantown Road toward U.S. 64.
May 20
Montpelier Drive (unspecified charge)
A victim flagged down an officer on May 20 on Montpelier Drive, saying that someone had loosened the lug nuts on all but the rear right wheel of his red Dodge pickup. He said it happened between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on May 18. The truck was parked in his open garage at the time.
Bartlett Boulevard (auto burglary complaint)
A woman at Malco Theater (2809 Bartlett Boulevard) said someone had broken into her car through the front passenger window and door. She arrived around 3:40 p.m. and returned to her car briefly around 4:50 p.m. to put her purse inside. She then went into a local business for about two minutes. The window was shattered and multiple items were missing from her car when she returned.
May 21
Stage Road (theft)
A victim reported that someone took her zebra-print wallet on May 21 when she briefly left it atop a coin machine at Cici’s Pizza (6600 Stage Road, Suite 103).
