Bartlett Police Reports for March 6-12, 2017

Stock image of a police carThe Bartlett Police Department handled the following incidents for March 6-12, 2017. This listing includes the most notable incidents for the reporting period and does not necessarily reflect all police activity.

March 6


Kate Bond Road (burglaries)

One or more burglars hit multiple businesses at 2996 Kate Bond Road, according to a March 6 report. Tabor Orthopedics reported that someone stole about $530 in cash and checks from a large safe between 5 p.m. March 3 and 8 a.m. March 6. Someone also took the drugs Soma (a muscle relaxer), tramadol (a pain reliever), dexamethasone (a corticosteroid), cyclobenzaprine (a muscle relaxer) and ranitidine (reduces stomach acid).

Memphis Surgery Associates said someone stole their mailbox key and about $200 from a stored cash box. The responding officer noticed that it didn’t appear anyone had tampered with the entrance door, and it isn’t known how a suspect gained entry.

St. Francis Cardiology Associates had $100 stolen from their cash box, as well as their key to the shredder box. The front door appeared to be slightly damaged, and employees said the damage wasn’t there previously.

St. Francis Surgical Associates reported $117 missing from their cash box, which was found open in Exam Room 1, next to the front office desk.

At Bartlett Women’s Clinic, someone took a white Epson projector and its black carrying case. The item had been stored in a filing cabinet in the back of the business.

Santa Valley (motor vehicle theft)

An officer arrived at the Bartlett Greenline Entrance near 2894 Santa Valley around 4:40 p.m. March 6 and met with a man who said someone stole his truck while he was working on the bike trails.

He last saw his vehicle around 2 p.m., parked in the lot at the corner of Santa Valley and U.S. 64. He noticed it was missing around 4 p.m.

The vehicle is a white 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup with a white toolbox mounted in the bed. The fleet number of 15-370 is on the front of the hood.


March 7


Wolf Spring Lane (theft from a motor vehicle)

A man reported March 7 that someone stole electronics from his 2012 Jeep Liberty while it was parked in his driveway on Wolf Spring Lane. Items taken included a black Apple iPod ($100) and a black LG tablet ($300). There was no damaged noted on the vehicle.

The incident happened between 10 p.m. March 3 and 7 a.m. March 6.


March 9


Third Road (theft)

A mother whose son died Jan. 1 said someone stole a Craftsman riding lawnmower ($500) from his carport between Jan. 5 and 7. She reported the theft on March 9.

Elmore Road (vandalism)

A man heard glass breaking south of his home around 3:50 p.m. March 9 and found two trucks with broken and smashed windows. Then he saw three white males about 20-25 years old walking toward the dead end of Henrietta Road in Memphis.

They took off running when they saw him, jumped into a truck and sped away. The witness said it was a black Dodge Ram pickup, probably a 2003-2005 model.


March 11


Sycamore View (attempted burglary)

A woman who was out of town Feb. 21-23 reported on March 11 that she believed someone tried to break into her home by prying the lock on her back door. When she returned, she found a small mark on the door, and the trim was knocked out of place. She had repaired it already by the time she reported the incident.


March 13


Brunswick Forest Drive (domestic violence)

A man reported shortly after midnight March 13 that his partner got upset and started breaking things in his home. He said the suspect grabbed a set of glass balls ($200) and threw them down, shattering them.

The responding officer noticed a strong smell of alcohol on the suspect’s breath. The suspect left the home with a friend, and officers took pictures of the damaged items.

The victim said he wants to press charges.
