Bartlett Police reports for March 14-20, 2016

March 14


Stage Road (vandalism)

Someone flattened a victim’s tires on the 7600 block of Stage Road.

He said he came out of school and noticed that the two passenger-side tires on his 1988 Honda Accord were flat ($150). The responding officer noticed two puncture holes in each tire.

Woodlawn (reckless endangerment)

A black male and white female, both juveniles, were chargedon March 14 because of their dangerous stunt with a car.

They were spotted in the back parking lot of Bartlett High School (5688 Woodlawn), where the female climbed onto the roof of his vehicle. he then drove off with her still on the roof.

Both parties placed the female in imminent danger of bodily harm. The male was charged with reckless endangerment. The female was charged as a party to a crime (reckless endangerment). Each was released on the scene with a juvenile summons.


March 15


Anderton Springs (property damage)

A victim filed a complaint at the Bartlett jail on March 15, stating that she believed someone had struck her car. She said she was at a party on Anderton Springs on March 2 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. when the damage occurred.

The officer noted damage to the driver’s side door, and the driver’s side mirror was completely removed.


March 16


E. Oak Branch Circle (unauthorized use of a motor vehicle)

A vehicle owner reported on March 16 that a co-worker who borrowed his car hadn’t returned it more than three hours after the agreed-upon return time.

The victim said the suspect asked to borrow the 2001 Infiniti I30 to take care of a personal matter at his home. The owner agreed as long as the vehicle was returned to the owner’s workplace (O’Charleys) by 8:30 p.m. that night.

The owner said he believed the coworker would return the vehicle on time because the suspect was supposed to be working. He tried calling the suspect several times, and the calls went straight to voice mail.

The vehicle is light blue with a darker blue driver’s side front door.

Windy Gap (shots fired)

Officers investigated a report of shots fired on Windy Gap at 11 p.m. March 16.

A witness arrived and said he heard arguing in the cove around 10:30 p.m. He then saw a silver car parked outside his house, and a blue Toyota pulled into the cove with its lights off. That’s when he heard three gunshots. He said both cars left the cove then.

The victimsaid he and the suspect have been arguing over the theft of $100 that happened two yearse ago. He said he pulled into his driveway and was walking toward his house when the blue car pulled up and the suspect emerged from the passenger seat.

The victim said he continued to go inside despute how the suspect began yelling at him. He said he saw the blue car return about 20 minutes later, and he heard four gunshots. While the officer was on the scene, three 9mm casings were found on the cove in front of the victim’s home.
