Bartlett Police Reports for Oct. 6-20, 2019

The Bartlett Police Report for the period of Oct. 6-20, 2019, lists the most notable crimes for that period as reported by the Bartlett Police Department. It does not necessarily reflect all police activity. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and values are estimated for stolen/damaged items. These are brief summaries of detailed BPD reports.

Robbery

Jonstone Lane: A man using the Let Go App found a cell phone listed for about $200 and arranged to meet the seller. But when the man approached the car, the seller brandished a pistol and said, “Give me the money.” The suspect took the money and fled west on Jonstone Lane. Reported Oct. 18.

Burglaries and thefts

Grassland Cove: A woman placed three checks in her mailbox and later returned home to find the checks gone but the flag still up on her mailbox. The mailman told her he didn’t take any mail out of her mailbox that day. Reported Oct. 7.

Stage Road: A customer at Popeye’s (6085 Stage Road) reported accidentally leaving her wallet behind. When she returned, it was gone. Reported Oct. 10,

Stage Road: A woman sitting in her vehicle outside the Pho 64 restaurant (6773 Stage Road) reported that a suspect opened the vehicle’s door and forcefully grabbed her purse out of her hands. The suspect fled in a two-door blue vehicle headed east on Stage Road. Reported Oct. 11.

Stage Road: A man said he placed his gym bag, which contained his wallet and $800, in a locker at Planet Fitness (5740 Stage Road). He locked the locker and worked out for about 20 minutes, When he returned, his lock and the $800 were missing. Reported Oct. 14.

U.S. 64: A customer at Walmart (8400 U.S. 64) accidentally left her iPhone at a cash register, and it was gone when she returned. The store supervisor found surveillance footage of a suspect covering the woman’s phone with a purse and taking it after the victim left the register. Reported Oct. 15.

Yale Road: A man said his wife lost her iPhone in their driveway, and the “Find My iPhone” app showed the phone was located on Lucy Road in Millington. The Millington Police Department were unable to locate the iPhone.

La Casa Drive: A man reported that his Ring doorbell security camera showed someone steal a recently delivered package from his front porch. Reported Oct. 17.

Snowshoe Cove: Someone stole a Halloween laser light display from a man’s front yard. Reported Oct. 17.

Stage Road: A spokesman at the Man Cave barber shop (5512 Stage Road) said the front door was unlocked when he arrived, and several of the barber stations had been ransacked. It appeared as though someone had stolen all the clippers from every station. Reported Oct. 18.

U.S. 64: A victim said someone stole her phone from behind the cash register at a business (identity not disclosed). Reported Oct. 20.

Vehicle-related

Shelter Run Lane: Someone broke the driver’s rear window on a woman’s vehicle and stole her purse at the Bartlett Animal Shelter (5220 Shelter Run Lane). Security video showed a late-model dark gray Nissan Sentra with dark windows pull onto the lot behind the woman’s vehicle. A suspect on the driver’s side crawled through the window. Reported Oct. 12.

Fieldcrest Avenue: A complainant reported seeing an unknown male rummaging through his neighbor’s truck’s toolbox. The victim said multiple power tools were missing. Reported Oct. 14.

Stage Road: Two victims reported that their vehicles were burglarized while parked at LA Fitness (6050 Stage Road). Reported Oct. 14.

Bartlett Center Drive: A woman said someone shattered the driver’s side window of her vehicle and stole her wallet. The vehicle was parked at KinderCare (6000 Bartlett Center Drive). Reported Oct. 16.

U.S. 64: Someone stole the license plate from a woman’s vehicle. Reported Oct. 16.

Ruffle Drive: Someone shattered both rearview mirrors on a woman’s vehicle. Reported Oct. 17.

Other

Bartlett Boulevard: A suspect tried to pass a counterfeit $100 bill for tickets and concessions at Malco Theatre (2809 Bartlett Blvd.). The suspect left when the theater manager walked away with the bill to inspect it. Reported Oct. 19.

U.S. 64: Someone tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill at another Malco theater (7930 U.S. 64). The suspect left when the employee questioned the bill’s authenticity. Reported Oct. 19.
