The Bartlett Police Department (BPD) handled the following incidents for Oct. 19-26.

Oct. 19
Keats Road (unauthorized use of a vehicle)
A female complainant reported on Oct. 19 that her boyfriend did not return the car he borrowed from her father.
She let him take her father’s gold Honda Accord at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 to pick up her mother. He took the car but didn’t pick up the mother or return the vehicle.
The complainant reached him around 5 p.m. Oct. 18 and saw the vehicle at the Hickory Point apartments in Memphis. He agreed to bring the vehicle to her home on the 3000 block of Keats Road, but he never arrived.
Kate Bond Road (auto burglary)
A woman who parked her car in the north parking lot of Saint Francis Hospital – Bartlett (2986 Kate Bond Road) on Oct. 19 had her purse stolen from underneath the rear car seat.
The black leather purse ($130) contained $30 cash, three checkbooks from her Regions Bank account, two Visa cards, a Suntrust card, her driver’s license, and the Social Security cards for her and her four children.
The burglary happened between 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
U.S. 64 (counterfeit currency)
The manager of Wendy’s (7920 U.S. 64) reported that a customer spent one counterfeit $20 bill there on Oct. 19 and tried to pass another later that day. The suspect was about 5 feet 5 inches tall and around 30 years old with brown hair. He had multiple tattoos, including a crown over his left eye.
He left westbound on U.S. 64 in an older model white Cadillac.
Oakmoor (theft from yard)
Someone stole two Halloween decorations ($40) from a man’s front yard overnight on Oct. 18. The next day, he reported the theft of two Fire and Ice brand lights that projected purple and orange lights.
Oct. 20
Azalea Hill Cove (burglary)
A maintenance supervisor reported on Oct. 20 that someone took appliances from a rental home on Azalea Hill Cove.
Oct. 21
Strawbridge Drive (suspicious person complaint)
A man heard his dogs barking around 3:35 a.m. Oct. 21 and checked his security camera. He saw someone running from his garage to the street.
The victim found the garage door open and followed the fleeing suspect in his truck. The victim lost sight of him and called the police around 3:41 a.m.
He found that a pink revolver had been stolen from his wife’s unlocked Infinity.
Bartlett Boulevard (theft)
A man who thought he had been misplacing his tools for several weeks realized some had been stolen and contacted police on Oct. 21.
The tools were in an unlocked detached shed in his backyard. Items stolen included a red “pancake”-style air compressor of unknown brand ($100), a chop saw of unknown brand ($100), a Sonic oscillating multi tool ($30), a Kawasaki 19-volt cordless drill ($50), a Green Earth electric chain saw ($50), and about $200 of miscellaneous hand tools.
Oct. 22
Unspecified address (burglary/auto burglary)
A victim found the driver’s door open on his Ford Explorer in the driveway when he walked outside around 8 a.m. Oct. 22.
had also entered two unlocked wooden sheds on the property, removed miscellaneous items and staged them next to the wooden privacy fence and the sheds. Two buckets of cleaning supplies were also removed and staged near the Explorer.
Oct. 23
Broadway (theft of a motor vehicle)
A victim reported on Oct. 23 that someone stole a 2004 gray GMC Sierra parked in the front yard of a home on Broadway.
The GMC Sierra truck had a black toolbox attached to the bed, containing a DeWalt Drill Driver ($150), a bag of assorted Klein hand and electrical tools ($350), a Craftsman socket set ($100), various shovels ($50), an unknown number of sheets of floor tile ($1,000), men’s clothing ($200), a man’s gold ring ($200) and a battery charger ($100).
Video surveillance of the theft showed a male suspect, possibly a Hispanic or white male wearing a baseball cap, entering the Sierra around 1:30 a.m. Oct. 23 and driving northbound on Broadway toward Shadowlawn/Oak Road.
