The Bartlett Police Department responded to the following incidents for the period of May 14-20, 2018.

All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and values are estimated for stolen/damaged items. These are brief summaries of detailed BPD reports. Incidents are listed by the dates they were reported.
Aggravated robbery
Three black males robbed a man at gunpoint on Yates Street on May 20, the victim reported. It was about 12:45 a.m. and he was trying to sell his iPhone 7 to someone he had contacted via the Snapchat app.
The three suspects drove a dark sedan with a pink steering wheel cover and parked across the street. The victim got in the front passenger seat and handed over the cell phone to the driver, Suspect #1. Suspect #2 in the backseat then jumped out of the car, pulled the victim out of the car by his shirt and pointed a gun at him. That suspect stole his wallet, and the driver also pointed a gun at the victim.
The suspects fled, and the victim couldn’t describe their vehicle in detail. He said all three suspects looked to be about 18-20 years old and that they pulled pistols from their waistbands.
Car break-ins
Bartlett had a rash of auto burglaries and thefts from vehicles, including:
- Summer Avenue: Stolen transmission and attempted theft of two sets of tires at J.C. Auto Repair on May 12
- Brunswick Road: 2 vehicles’ windows broken and one purse stolen at Lakeside-Cresthaven Outpatient on May 15
- Patricia Ellen Drive: One broken window and a purse stolen from the front passenger floorboard overnight on May 16
- Patricia Ellen Drive: Theft of $515 from the center console of an unlocked car overnight on May 16
- New Brunswick Road: Punched lock and theft of a touch screen and a handgun at Abra Auto Body on May 17
- Raner Creek Drive: Thefts from a vehicle parked on the street overnight and possibly left unlocked. Reported May 17
- Bristol Woods Cove: Punched-in lock on one door and several items stolen from a locked vehicle left parked on the street. The complainant repaired the lock before the officer arrived. Reported May 17
Vandalism
Vandals also had a busy week:
- Prairie View: Broken back glass of vehicle parked in driveway, possibly from a BB or pellet gun overnight, discovered on May 15
- Sleepy Woods Cove: Tampering that damaged locks on vehicle parked on street in front of home for about three months, discovered on May 16
- Wetherburns Circle: A homeowner said on May 16 she suspects that a group of neighborhood children are breaking her gate. She found it kicked in with a broken board and latch. The area children get off the school bus at the corner of Wetherburns Circle and Brush Everhard Street while she is at work.
- Unspecified location: An officer en route to another crime scene saw that someone had attached two signs to one of the “Welcome to the City of Bartlett” signs. He couldn’t remove the adhesive.
Various crimes
Other reports of criminal activity included:
- Spotted Fawn Cove: A man reported that he contacted his girlfriend on May 15 but she still won’t return the vehicle he loaned her in February.
- Hampton Valley: Someone stole a package from a woman’s front porch on May 3. She reported on May 15.
- Country Lane Drive: A woman left her vehicle unlocked and the keys in the center console and discovered it was stolen between 2:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. May 16. When the vehicle was located, nothing appeared to be missing from it.
- Sycamore Manor Cove: A man suspects that a house cleaner stole $180 while at his house on May 18.
- U.S. 64: Someone stole a woman’s purse from the CookOut restaurant’s office on May 18.
- U.S. 70: Someone burglarized a man’s storage building and stole several car/engine parts around May 19. The gate and rear door were left unlocked.
