The Bartlett Police Report for Feb. 25-March 3, 2019, lists the most notable crimes for that period as reported by the Bartlett Police Department; it does not necessarily reflect all police activity. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and values are estimated for stolen/damaged items. These are brief summaries of detailed BPD reports.

Vehicle-related

Germantown Parkway: Officers were on a routine patrol near the Infiniti of Memphis Dealership (3060 North Germantown Parkway) because of recent thefts when they spotted a suspicious vehicle around 3 a.m. Feb. 26. A red Chevrolet Avalanche truck had all its lights off and was backed into a parking spot on the east side of the plaza near the woods line.

As officers approached, they saw two males leaned back in their seats with hoodies pulled tightly around their faces. The suspects began making furtive movements toward their floorboard, and officers ordered them to stop.

The officers saw two pairs of gloves and various items consistent with burglary tools on the floorboard, including screwdrivers, wrenches and multi tools. Officers detained both suspects, got the driver’s consent for a vehicle search, and found a backpack full of wrenches, socket wrenches and screwdrivers on the backseat. A transmission and an impact wrench set were in the bed of the truck.

Both suspects were taken to Bartlett Jail.
