The Bartlett Police Department handled these and other incidents for the period of Dec. 4-17.

All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and values are estimated for stolen/damaged items. These are brief summaries of detailed BPD reports. Incidents are listed in order of the dates they were reported.
Dec. 4
Kate Bond Road (rim/tire theft)
A victim reported Dec. 4 at Saint Francis Hospital (2986 Kate Bond Road) that three males had parked in a nearby parking space and removed all four rims and tires from the victim’s vehicle.
Billy Maher Road (vandalism)
Unknown juveniles in a golf cart crashed into a wooden arch on the grounds of Bartlett Elementary School (3932 Billy Maher Road), damaging the structure. Security footage shows a gray truck arriving shortly after, pulling the damaged golf cart away. The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Dec. 2 and was reported on Dec. 4.
Unspecified street (theft)
A woman said she neglected to hide her valuables at home when she left town, and some of her jewelry was stolen from atop her dresser.
Dec. 5
Sunrise Lane (vandalism)
A woman said someone with a pellet gun shot out her garage door window overnight.
Stage Hills Boulevard (theft)
A parent picking up his child at We Love Kids Learning Center (8040 Stage Hills Blvd.) on Dec. 4 was the victim of theft. He reported the next day that someone stole his laptop bag with a laptop and a hard drive.
Dec. 6
Honeybee Lane (vandalism)
Someone gouged the paint all the way around a man’s Nissan Quest van and scratched a vulgar word onto the rear driver’s side door, the victim reported. He said it happened between 6:45 p.m. Dec. 5 and 7 a.m. Dec. 6.
Dec. 7
Crested Pine Cove (auto burglary)
Nothing was stolen, but a man reported that someone rummaged through his vehicle overnight.
Blackheath Drive (auto burglary)
A woman reported that someone stole a black leather jacket, rose gold iPad Pro and a black backpack from her unlocked vehicle. The theft happened between 5 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7:45 a.m. Dec. 7.
Stage Road (theft)
An employee at Nationwide Insurance (6187 Stage Road) said her wallet was stolen from behind her desk while she was calculating insurance quotes the previous afternoon for two unidentified black females. The suspect is reported to be 5 feet 5 inches tall and 186 lbs. with long magenta braids.
Her bank statements showed that her card was used at Walgreens (5080 Stage Road) for $1,780.69 and at an unspecified Dollar General for $364.80.
Skyview Circle (auto burglary)
Sometime between 5 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7:30 a.m. Dec. 7 someone rummaged through a woman’s unlocked car while it was parked in her driveway.
East Gillia Drive (auto burglary)
A man said someone went through his unlocked vehicle while he it was parked at his brother’s house. The only thing stolen was a pair of Dickey’s sunglasses ($20).
Josee Lane (theft from motor vehicle)
A Bible was the only thing stolen from a woman’s vehicle left unlocked in her driveway. The theft happened between 5:40 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7:40 a.m. Dec. 7.
Dec. 8
Court Street (vandalism)
Someone shattered the front passenger window of a woman’s vehicle while it was parked in her driveway. The damage happened between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. Dec. 7. She speculated that it could be retaliation from a speeding motorist. Nothing was missing from her vehicle.
U.S. 64 (auto burglary)
A man reported around 3 p.m. that someone had stolen multiple power tools from the bed of his truck while it was parked at Lowe’s (8300 U.S. 64).
Old Brownsville Road (theft)
A woman reported that someone stole her daughter’s cell phone while she was at Bon Lin school. An app pinpointed the phone’s location at an address in Bartlett, but the responding officer wasn’t able to make contact with anyone at the residence.
Dec. 9
Stage Road (alarm)
Officers responded to a commercial alarm at Exxon Gas Station on Stage Road around 3:30 a.m. Dec. 9. They found the lower half of the front door shattered and part of a jack-stand in side on the floor. Footprints were on the front counter, and two cash registers were broken on the floor behind it. Cash and several items were stolen.
Fox Field (attempted auto burglary)
A man reported hearing a vehicle doing donuts in the road outside his home around 4:30 a.m. When he looked outside, he also saw one male suspect trying to break into his truck. He ran outside, and the suspect fled to a late 2000s dark Chevy truck. The victim said the suspect fired one shot at him from inside the vehicle as he fled.
There was no damage to the man’s vehicle and no theft. No bullet casing was recovered at the scene.
Memphis Arlington Road (burglary of a business)
When she arrived around 8:30 a.m., the manager of Fantastic Sam’s found that someone had burglarized the business. The front door glass was shattered but still in place and the front door was unlocked. Losses included damaged hair products and supplies, a flooded floor, $360 cash stolen and the manager’s personal laptop stolen. The assistant manager said he locked the store’s door before leaving the previous night around 6:30 p.m.
Doefield Trail (theft of a motor vehicle and attempted theft from a motor vehicle)
Someone stole a man’s black four-door Chevrolet Silverado between 11 p.m. Dec. 8 and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 9. He also reported that someone had gone through his gray Honda Accord but didn’t take anything. Both vehicles were unlocked, and the keys were in the truck.
Doefield Trail (theft from a motor vehicle)
A man reported that someone took his red Swiss Army backpack containing his Dell work laptop from his Ford Freestyle. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in his driveway.
Andrews Road (theft from a motor vehicle)
Another man who left his vehicle unlocked in his driveway overnight reported that someone stole two black LG Pads from his GMC Acadia.
Baird Lane (auto burglary)
Someone broke into a woman’s 2010 Toyota Camry overnight. She reported that nothing was missing but her glove compartment was open and documents were strewn throughout the vehicle.
Doefield Trail (attempted theft from a motor vehicle)
A man reported that someone entered his unlocked pickup truck between 3 p.m. Dec. 8 and 10:45 a.m. Dec. 9, but nothing was taken.
Hill Lake Drive (attempted theft from an auto)
A woman reported that someone entered her unlocked Ford Expedition overnight but didn’t take anything.
Yale Road (residential burglary)
A man reported that someone broke into his home the morning of Dec. 9 while he and his girlfriend were away. The back door was pried open and several electronic items were taken, along with some cash.
Bartlett Boulevard (burglary)
A spokesman for Wing Stop (2839 Bartlett Boulevard) reported money stolen from two cash registers and the safe sometime between 1 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Dec. 9.
Daybreak Drive (theft of mail)
A woman reported that someone stole two packages from her front porch sometime after 11:45 a.m.
Foggy River Lane (vandalism)
Someone intentionally cut the wires to several Christmas inflatables and electric lights at a woman’s home.
Barrentine Drive (automobile burglary)
A man who left his vehicle unlocked in his driveway reported that someone stole his silver Samsonite briefcase containing his Nikon Coolpix digital camera.
Memphis Arlington Road (automobile theft)
Someone stole a vehicle left running when the driver went inside Citgo Gas Station/Flash Market (6505 Memphis Arlington Road) around 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 9. The victim said it was his father’s vehicle, a gold Kia Optima LX.
Dec. 10
Juneway Drive (auto burglary)
A man who left his Toyota Tundra truck unlocked overnight reported that someone stole an IBM Lenova laptop and a Dell from it.
Bartlett View Lane (residential burglary)
A woman reported that someone tried to break into her home while she was out to dinner on Dec. 10. The front door was damaged, and it appeared that someone had kicked or pushed against it in efforts to enter the home. It didn’t appear that the suspects were able to gain entry, and nothing was reported missing.
Dec. 11
Deermont Road (vandalism)
Someone threw green paint on the exterior brick wall of a facility’s bathroom and also dented and tried to remove the men’s restroom sign.
Dec. 12
Brunswick Road (theft)
A man reported that someone stole his firearm from his unlocked vehicle at his home about a month previously.
Baird Lane (auto burglary)
A woman reported that someone had rifled through her vehicle and stolen about $8 while it was parked in her driveway. She noticed the incident on Dec. 9.
Glen Chase Drive (theft from yard)
A man reported that someone had stolen a Macy’s package from his front porch. He observed the suspect on his residential security cameras.
Mercury Street (theft from motor vehicle)
Someone broke into a man’s Toyota Tundra between Dec. 9 and Dec. 12 and stole weapons. Items taken included his Glock 23 .40-caliber with two magazines and his rifle. There was no damage to the vehicle.
Dec. 15
Stonehill Drive (attempted auto burglary)
A man said someone went through his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway overnight and pulled keys and paperwork out of the glove compartment and other areas. Nothing of value was stolen. He said he probably left the vehicle unlocked.
Dec. 16
Summer Avenue (commercial alarm)
Officers responded to a commercial alarm at the Shell gas station (6390 Summer Ave.) around 2:35 a.m. The front double doors were damaged but it didn’t appear that suspects gained entry.
Security footage showed three masked male suspects in hooded jackets approached the front door. Two tried to get inside by throwing what looked like a car jack at the door once each. The business owner will provide copies of security footage at a later date.
North Hampton Cove (vandalism)
A man said someone stuck three-inch nails into the rear tires of his Ford F-150. He said he drove about 100 meters before those tires were flat.
Dec. 17
Scepter Drive (burglary)
Someone vandalized a rental home that is currently vacant and being renovated. The back door was broken, and the entire first floor was covered in about an inch of water. The rental home owner said the washing machine spigot had been opened.
Someone had also opened a bag of white fresh-water food-grade diatomaceous earth and thrown the powder around the floor, onto counters and into the stove. Several buckets of white paint were poured out onto the counters, spilled onto the walls and dishwasher, and thrown onto the fireplace brick. Officers who headed upstairs also found a large brown stain thrown onto the walls and steps.
U.S. 64 (fraud/theft)
A woman shopping at Walmart (8400 U.S. 64) got a call from her bank’s fraud department that someone had just used her debit card several times consecutively. Her wallet was in her purse when she entered the store around 3:45 p.m., and she discovered it was missing when she got the call around 4:40 p.m.
Burkehill Drive (theft of mail)
A man reported that someone stole a package containing exercise gear from his mailbox around 1 p.m. Dec. 16.
