The Bartlett Police Department (BPD) handled the following incidents during Dec. 21-27.
These are brief summaries of detailed BPD reports. This listing includes the most notable incidents for the reporting period and does not necessarily reflect all police activity.

Dec. 21
Jeffery Keith Drive (theft)
Someone stole a Christmas deer light from a front yard on Jeffery Keith Drive, the owner reported on Dec. 21. She said someone took the body from one of the deer lights, leaving behind the head.
Doberman Cove (vandalism)
A resident on Doberman Cove reported Dec. 21 that someone damaged her vehicle, trying to break into it. She said the attempt must have happened between 11 p.m. Dec. 20 and 8:15 a.m. on Dec. 21.
The responding officer observed damage to the driver’s side door handle and door. The owner said nothing was stolen.
Thistle Ridge (theft)
Someone entered an unlocked Ford Ranger parked in a Thistle Ridge driveway on Dec. 21 and stole the owner’s wallet. She said the item stolen was a brown/gold Michael Kors wallet ($300) containing $400 in cash, her driver’s license, Social Security card, TN Care card and a Buckle gift card ($200).
The home’s security camera showed a black male suspect and another unknown suspect entering the vehicle at 3:35 p.m.
Dec. 22
North Germantown Road (attempted auto burglary)
A spokesman for Wolfchase Nissan (2956 N. Germantown Road) reported a white male attempting to burglarize an employee’s vehicle on Dec. 22.
Witness 1 said the suspect was taking pictures of cars and then entered the victim’s white Toyota Corolla.
Witness 2 followed the suspect through the parking lot south toward U.S. 64 but lost him. The witness recognized the person as someone who had previously applied for a position at the car dealership.
Witness 3 identified the suspect and said he knew him as a co-worker at a previous place of employment.
Nothing was taken from or damaged in the vehicle.
Dec. 23
Venson Drive (burglary)
A man said someone stole his handgun after he stored it in his unsecured garage.
He saw the weapon on the floorboard as he was leaving his home at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 22 and stopped to put the handgun on a shelf in his garage.
He left the garage door open when he exited.
When he returned, he couldn’t find the gun. He described it as a .38-caliber silver Smith & Wesson revolver with a short barrel ($433).
The handgun’s information was entered into the National Crime Infor-mation Center (NCIC) database.
Dec. 24
U.S. 70 (burglary)
Someone broke into the storage shed at Rushing’s General Construction (7094 U.S. 70) and stole a large toolbox and various tools between 3 p.m. Dec. 23 and 9:15 a.m. Dec. 24.
The responding officer saw a broken padlock on the shed’s right front door.
The complainant also said someone stole a 16-foot trailer ($800) from the property’s northwest side yard.
Dec. 25
Altruria Road (auto burglary)
Someone stole a tablet computer from an SUV parked in an Altruria Road driveway, the owner reported on Christmas morning. He said the theft happened between 2:30 p.m. Dec. 24 and 10 a.m. Dec. 25. The item taken was a Verizon LG G Pad 8.3 LTE tablet ($200).
The officer saw no signs of forced entry, and the victim said he might have accidentally left his 2012 Dodge Journey unlocked.
Dec. 27
Yale Road (theft)
The executive pastor for Christ Church (5955 Yale Road) reported Dec. 27 that someone had stolen his Apple Macbook laptop ($1,200) and Jabra wireless headset ($60) from his office.
He noticed a man suspiciously wandering around the church several times, opening different doors. The man said he was lost, so the pastor’s daughter escorted him to the auditorium. She texted her father when the man left during the services.
After the services ended, the executive pastor entered his office and noticed his property was missing.
He didn’t see the man steal the items but is suspicious because of the man’s activities.
The suspect was described as an unfamiliar white male with short curly brown hair, about six feet tall and weighing about 160 lbs. He was wearing bluejeans and a white long-sleeved button-down shirt with a cross embroidered on the back.
