
The Bartlett Police Department reported the following activities for Feb. 17-23:
Beagle Run Lane: A citizen contacted an officer on patrol around 10:40 a.m. on Feb. 17 to report a basketball goal theft from his home at Beagle Run Lane. The goal was taken between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Feb. 16.
French Broad: Responded at 1:26 p.m. on Feb. 16 to report of vandalism at French Broad. The victim said someone spray painted “HB” on the back of his Bronco while it was parked in his driveway. The vandalism occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Feb. 16 and 8 a.m. Feb. 17.
North Oakmoor Circle: Responded around 7:20 p.m. on Feb. 17 to complaint of vandalism on North Oakmoor Circle. The victim said someone repeatedly kicked his backyard fence and has broken several boards. He reported last replacing boards around 4 p.m. on Feb. 16, and he noticed another one was damaged around 3 p.m. on Feb. 17. The victim said he suspects several white male teenagers that skateboard in the area. He has replaced about 12 boards and values the damage at approximately $20.
Elmore Road: Responded around 12:01 p.m. on Feb. 19 to Elmore Road regarding reported vandalism to buildings. The victim said that someone spray painted two of his large metal storage buildings sometime between 5 p.m. Feb. 18 and 11:30 a.m. Feb. 19. The spray paint was on the east side of one building, the front roll-up door of another building, and the side of a semi-trailer. Twenty bales of hay were also tossed around and damaged.
Serra Chevrolet: Responded around 9:17 a.m. on Feb. 20 to reported auto burglary at Serra Chevrolet, 7850 U.S. 64. The service manager said someone punched the driver’s side door lock and removed the dashboard trim from a Chevy van that had been dropped off at the dealership for repairs. The burglary occurred between Feb. 13 and 20.
Canehill Lane: Responded at 5 p.m. on Feb. 20 to reported burglary complaint on Canehill Lane. The victim said sometime between Feb. 7 and 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 someone entered his unsecured backyard shed and took his red five-gallon gas can with gas (estimated value $25) and his Poulan chainsaw (estimated value $150).
Dawnhill Road: Responded at 3:06 p.m. on Feb. 21 to assist the fire department on a grass fire at Easthill Park on Dawnhill Road. Witnesses at the northwest bike trail reported seeing a juvenile (wearing a blue shirt and riding a red mini-bike) light a piece of paper and throwing it on the dry park grass, causing it to catch fire. The witnesses said they asked the suspect why he set the grass on fire, and he said it was because someone threw a rock at him. The suspect was transported to juvenile court on charges.
Oak Walk Lane: Responded around 10:44 p.m. on Feb. 21 to reported burglary on Oak Walk Lane. The complainant said the front door of her boyfriend’s residence was open when she stopped by to pick up a cell phone charger around 10 p.m., and it was not like that when she left around 8 a.m. that morning. She said nothing seemed to be missing.
Sugar Tree: Responded at 3:05 p.m. on Feb. 22 to reported theft from yard on Sugar Tree. The victim said her backpack blower and weed eater were stolen from her backyard shed.
