The Bartlett Police Department reported the following activity for Dec. 16-22:
Davies Plantation: Responded on Dec. 16 to reported theft at Davies Plantation. The complainant said that sometime between 3 p.m. Dec. 13 and 9 a.m. Dec. 16 someone stole half a pallet of sod from the yard of a residence under construction. Estimated loss was $250.
Garden Meadows: Dispatched to Steven Franklin on Dec. 16 in regard to an auto burglary. The complainant said that sometime between 8 p.m. Dec. 15 and 8 a.m. Dec. 16 someone entered his 2006 vehicle and ransacked the glove compartment. Victim did not believe anything had been stolen from the glove box; however the rear view mirror was missing.
Windersville: Responded on Dec. 16 to report of someone unlawfully entering a victim’s Toyota while it was parked on Morning Dew Lane. A drum kit was stolen from the vehicle.
Walmart: Responded to report of unlawful entry of a vehicle on Dec. 16 in Walmart parking lot at 8400 Highway 64. The victim reported that she forgot to lock the driver’s door and left a brow leather purse ($30) in the van; and an unknown person took it.
Garden Meadows: Responded to Carat Circle at 4:50 p.m. regarding a complaint of theft from a motor vehicle. Victim said that sometime between 11 p.m. Dec. 15 and 1 p.m. on Dec. 16, someone stole several items from his vehicle, which was parked on the street in front of his home. The victim did not remember if he locked the vehicle; no forced entry was noted. Among the items stolen were a handicap hangtag ($3), a roadside emergency kit ($30) and two phone/iPod chargers ($50).
Daybreak Area: Responded to audible alarm on Dec. 19 while on routine patrol on Hidden Fern. The gate on the south side of the residence was open, a rear window was broken, and the rear door was open. An interior bedroom door had been forced open. The room was full of clothing, and a jewelry box was emptied. Nothing else in the home appeared to be disturbed. A neighbor said a white man in his 20s came around the previous day, asking to rake leaves.
Hollywood Cinema: Responded to a complaint of a suspicious circumstance on Dec. 20 at Hollywood Cinema at 6711 Stage Road. The complainant said he saw a juvenile suspect exit a vehicle with two purses, cash and credit cards in her hands. The suspect said she was holding the purses but had found them on the ground near a vehicle. She took the officers to the purses, which were hidden near the theater. The purses contained identification, miscellaneous credit cards, $187 in cash, and papers. A search related to arrest of the juvenile revealed $62 in cash, a Samsung cell phone valued at $300, and four different credit cards with the names of both victims on them. The suspect was released to her guardian with a juvenile summons. Police contacted the victims, who identified and reclaimed their property. The victims said all was accounted for except for a $10 phone charger, and they believed their purses were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. Total cost for all items stolen was $653.
