The Bartlett Police Report for the period of March 18-24, 2019, lists the most notable crimes for that period as reported by the Bartlett Police Department; it does not necessarily reflect all police activity. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and values are estimated for stolen/damaged items. These are brief summaries of detailed BPD reports.

Suspicious person

  • Officers responded to a suspicious person report at Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett around 9 p.m. March 18. The male was reportedly being verbally abusive to staff and threatening hospital employees each time he visited his mother there. He received a trespass warning and was left the property without incident.

Theft and burglary

  • Bartlett Corp. Drive: A spokesman at Brim’s Snacks (3040 Bartlett Corp. Drive) reported the theft of two cargo trailers. One was taken off the northeast side of the warehouse lot between 11:35 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. March 17. The second trailer was taken at an unknown time. The suspect’s semi truck may be a blue International with repaired damage above the driver’s side, which has been painted white. Reported March 19.
  • Elmore Road: A woman reported on March 20 that someone had burglarized her home. The responding officer saw the carport door and frame were damaged as if they had been pried open. Several items were missing from the home.

Vehicle-related

  • Montpelier Drive: At 4:35 a.m. on March 20, officers responded to a shots fired call in the area of Yale Road and Venson Drive. The complainant said she saw several suspects rummaging through a vehicle on Montpelier Drive, and when they saw her they fled in a dark SUV toward eastbound Yale Road. When she followed in her vehicle, the suspects opened fire. Responding officers searched the area and did find one vehicle, a red Chevrolet Tahoe, that had the glove box open and middle console up. The owner agreed that the vehicle had been rummaged through but nothing was taken and her vehicle was not damaged.
  • Bardstown Road: A woman reported vandalism on March 20, saying that someone had broken her vehicle’s rear window. Nothing was taken. The responding officer didn’t see any signs of what may have been used to break the window and noted in the report that it didn’t appear that the window was broken in an attempt to take any property.
  • North Germantown Road: Someone broke into a Nissan Maxima on the lot of Wolfchase Nissan (2956 North Germantown Road), as reported on March 22. The responding officer saw that the rear and front passenger side windows were broken and the glove box had been opened.
