April 25

Fiske Valley Drive (shots fired)

Officers responded to calls about shots fired in the area of Fiske Valley Drive around 10:30 p.m. April 25. (See the full story separately in this edition.)

The first office on scene found a Honda crashed into a light pole and one victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Witnesses said about six to eight unknown black males came to a part in the area and began an argument that escalated into a physical fight. Then one of the unknown males pulled out a firearm. The victims fled in one car with the unknown males chasing them in another vehicle, firing multiple times along the way. The matter is currently under investigation.

Stage Road (public annoyance)

An officer spotted a suspect standing in the middle of Stage Road at Stage Center around 5:25 p.m. April 25. As the officer watched, an eastbound vehicle in the left lane stopped in traffic to let the suspect cross southbound.

The suspect began running southbound across Stage Road, and vehicles in the eastbound middle and right lanes then had to hit their brakes to avoid hitting the suspect. When people honked at the disruption, the suspect began yelling angrily at the passing cars.

The officer determined that the suspect had knowingly obstructed the highway and inconvenienced those who were trying to pass by. The suspect also intentionally caused public annoyance by creating a hazardous and offensive condition that served no legitimate purpose. The office took the suspect into custody, issued a misdemeanor citation and released the suspect on scene.
