Bartlett OKs BPD supplemental pay, subdivision’s site plan

Bartlett-city-seal-300pxBartlett’s city board amended the general fund budget at the Feb. 27 meeting, appropriating $67,200 for peace officer supplement pay. The funds, provided by the State of Tennessee, will be used for Bartlett Police Department’s certified personnel.

Bartlett’s leaders also approved the site plan contract for The Aspen subdivision. The developer, Focus 3 LLC, will pay $69,594.79 in city fees, and the bond is set at $353,370.

In other business:

  • Dick Phebus, Bartlett’s director of finance, received the Government Finance Officers Association’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the fiscal year that began July 1, 2017. Phebus thanked the personnel in his department and said, “It’s not me – it’s all the people behind me. So I thank you.”
  • Firefighter Ben White of the Bartlett Fire Department was promoted to the rank of apparatus driver.
  • The board had the second reading of an ordinance that will delete a redundant section about the return check service fee from Bartlett’s code. The public hearing will be on March 13.
  • The board accepted the lowest bid to buy two Ford F150 trucks for Public Works. AutoNation won the bid with a total sale price of $49,958.32.
  • The board also accepted the treasurer’s report for January 2018.

Alderman Paula Sedgwick was absent from the meeting.
