Bartlett okays zoning ordinances, adjustment to seat belt penalties

seatbelt-webBartlett’s city board approved an ordinances to modify seat belt penalties, enacted two ordinance amendments into law, and also approved a consent agenda to get multiple projects started.

There were no objections raised during the hearings for Ordinance 15-05 (to amend Zoning Ordinance Article VI, Section 10, on the parking and storage of certain vehicles) and Ordinance 15-06 (to amend Zoning Ordinance Article VI, Section 12B, regarding off-street parking and loading space requirements). The ordinances also had their third and final readings.

A second reading was held for Ordinance 15-07, to modify the penalties and fines provisions for seat belt so they match updates in the complimentary state law.

The public hearing will be Dec. 8.

The board also approved a resolution for a routine amendment to the FY 2016 General Purpose School Fund.

The consent agenda approved in one vote included:

  • Appraisals for right-of-way acquisition on Old Brownsville Road.
  • An authorization for Bouldin and Associates to perform appraisal work for 42 properties at a cost of $106,300, plus a contingency amount of $10,000, for a total of $116,300.

The city is responsible for 20 percent of the project’s total cost.

  • Formal review of right-of-way appraisals for widening of Old Brownsville Road.
  • Authorization for Douglas B. Hall to formally review right-of-way appraisals of 42 properties at a cost of $113,500, plus a contingency amount of $10,000, for a total cost of $123,500. The City is responsible for 20 percent of the project’s total cost.

  • City Beautiful Commission, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.
  • Family Assistance Commission, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m.
  • Planning Commission, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m.

The next meeting of the Bartlett city board will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at City Hall.
