Bartlett City Schools hosts different variations on the traditional science fair each year so that students in various grades have options about how they would like to participate. The 2017 winners of the Science & Maker Faire were announced at the May 25 school board meeting, and each received a trophy for his or her achievements.

Classroom projects competed in kindergarten through second grade, while individual students or pairs competed in the higher grades. Winners this year included:

  • K-2 Science Fair, first place: Jenny Underwood’s second-grade class at Bartlett Elementary
  • K-2 Science Fair, second place: Genna Harville’s second-grade class at Ellendale Elementary
  • K-2 Science Fair, third place: Wendi Brown’s kindergarten class at Rivercrest Elementary
  • 3-5 Science Fair, first place: Joshua Horne of Oak Elementary
  • 3-5 Science Fair, second place: Ruby Austin of Altruria Elementary
  • 3-5 Science Fair, third place: Kaniya Anthony of Bartlett Elementary
  • 5th Grade Maker Faire, first place: Jared Johnson and Wyatt Sutton of Rivercrest Elementary
  • 5th Grade Maker Faire, second place: Kayla Kahler and Ashley Sayre of Rivercrest Elementary
  • 5th Grade Maker Faire, third place: Adyn Miller and Kenneth Jones of Rivercrest Elementary
