Bartlett High cheer wins big at UCA camp

The Bartlett High School cheer team traveled to the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Camp in Panama City Beach, Fla., on June 5-8.

The team is made up of 45 girls in grades 7-12 and is divided into a junior varsity tumbling team, JV non-tumbling team and varsity non-tumbling team.

Each team was evaluated each day of the camp and received gold superior ribbons in cheer and dance.

The tumbling team received first-place honors in Rally Dance and in Camp Cheer. The team also received second place in Overall Game Day.

The JV non-tumbling team placed third in the Rally Dance, third in Overall Game Day, Top Sideline, and third in Camp Cheer.

The varsity non-tumbling team placed second in Rally Dance, second in Overall Game Day and first in Camp Cheer.

The teams will cheer at JV, freshman, and varsity football games before starting competition season. The teams are coached by Darius Henderson and Molly Duchemin. Team sponsors are Denise Henry and Denise Currey.
