Bartlett High band gets a big $5K donor

Bartlett High School band receives $5,000 donation.

Band director Dwight Dodd and several representative Bartlett High School band students accepted an anonymous benefactor’s $5,000 donation at the Bartlett City Schools regular business meeting on Jan. 22. Jason Sykes, president of the Bartlett Education Foundation, presented the check to the band on behalf of the donor. It will be used toward the purchase of a band trailer.

More band activities

In other band news within the Bartlett Community Schools district, the inaugural BCS All-District Honor Band will be at Bartlett High School on Jan. 29. The event will introduce the high school band experience to all of the 110 eighth-grade band students and the middle-school directors. They will be rehearsing all day along with other students from Bartlett High and the Ninth Grade Academy to prepare for the eighth-grade concert, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. that eveningt in the auditorium.
