The Bartlett Dog Park recently received some new amenities: Four pet waste stations donated by Memphis Veterinary Specialists (MVS). The park, which is at 5220 Shelter Run Lane, is adjacent to the Bartlett Animal Shelter.
The four new pet waste stations are constructed of green powder-coated aluminum, and they dispense plastic pet waste pick-up bags. The units also include lidded collection bins to provide pet owners with a secure place to deposit pet waste.
In addition to this gift in Bartlett, MVS has donated free pet waste stations to parks in a number of West Tennessee communities as a convenience for pet owners and to help make the world a better place for pets and the people who care for them.
MVS is at 555 Trinity Creek Cove in Cordova. It is a referral-based practice, working with primary care veterinarians to provide services not typically found outside veterinary teaching hospitals. The staff is made up of the region’s only board-certified specialists in disciplines that include ophthalmology, dermatology, dentistry and oral surgery, radiology and internal medicine.
MVS is also home to three board-certified surgeons (offering neurologic, orthopedic and soft-tissue surgeries), and the facility offers the Midsouth’s only advanced imaging technologies for animals, such as CT scans.
MVS does not offer vaccines, flea prevention or wellness exams, and one cannot just call and make an appointment: Patients are seen by referral from general practice veterinarians. The facility, however, does offer an emergency care center that is open to all pets in need of critical care, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No referrals are required to bring pets to the ER.
