Bartlett buys police cars, funds culvert project on Aug. 25

seal of bartlettThe Bartlett city board approved a list of bids, event permits, and appointments to Bartlett’s boards and commissions at their Aug. 25 meeting.

An ordinance on updating a health and safety plan also passed on its third reading. Ordinance 15-04 will establish an updated occupational safety and health program plan, devise rules and regulations and provide for a safety officer and implementation of the progran plan.

The board approved:

  • A special event permit for the Youth Villages car show on Sept. 25-26 at the Youth Villages campus. The event will be 6-10 p.m. the first night and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. the next day.
  • A special event permit for a neighborhood yard sale Oct. 3 in the Hunters Walk subdivision. Hours will be 6 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Bids to buy four unmarked vehicles and six Dodge Chargers for the police department. Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Columbia, Tenn., was the low bidder in each case.
  • The total for the unmarked vehicles was $95,706, and the total for the Chargers was $147,314.52.
  • The low bid for the Harrington Creek box culvert and slope stabilization project. Madden Phillips won the contract with a bid of $143,028, plus a contingency amount of $25,000, for a total cost of $168,028.
