Deren Whalen signs copies of his book, “What Is the Color of Hate?.”
Deren Whalen, a resident of Bartlett, recently signed copies of his novel, “What Is the Color of Hate?” at Republic Coffee, 2924 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis.
The book is about a man who grows up with hate, fear and anger toward the black men responsible for his father’s death in a violent home invasion. His racial hatred ultimately leads him to a terrible choice with tragic consequences.
Whalen’s press release states, “‘What is the Color of Hate?’ is a powerful story of anger, hate, love—and ultimately forgiveness—with the message of God’s grace and mercy skillfully woven throughout.”
