The Bartlett city board passed ordinances about parking and parking spaces at the Nov. 10 meeting.
It was the second reading for the following ordinances, which will be final after their Nov. 24 public hearings:
- Ordinance 15-05 notes that trailers not stored in an enclosed building must be stored behind the front elevation of the house.
- Ordinance 15-06 authorizes the Bartlett Planning Commission to diverge from the usual minimum number of parking spaces at the time the site plan is approved. This would require the applicant to present information that a different number is sufficient and appropriate.
Other business
The city board also:
- Authorized the auction of surplus property. Eighteen items have been identified as having a potential auction value of $500 or more and will be auctioned on GovDeals. com.
- Accepted a quote for 23 NXT spin bicycles with Fusion Drive to be used at the Bartlett Recreation Center. The bid was awarded to Core Health and Fitness, LLC for $23,306.00.
- Accepted the sole bid to purchase two ambulances for the city’s fire department. The bid was awarded to Emergency Equipment Professionals at $173,793 each for a total cost of $347,586.
- Accepted the sole bid for three police vehicle radios. The bid was awarded to ComServ Wireless at $5,928.26 per unit, with a total cost of $17,784.78.
- Accepted the lowest bids for two Public Works pickup trucks. The bid was awarded to Country Ford at a cost of $27,296.00 for one Ford F-150 crew cab and to Sam Swope Group at a cost of $20,277.36 for one 1500 Dodge Ram. Total cost for both trucks is $47,573.36.
- Accepted the lower bid to repair the city’s sludge digester and contract to monitor the project. The bid was awarded to Chris Hill Construction in the amount of $435,760 plus a contingency amount of $43,760, for a total cost of $479,520. The board also authorized a contract with Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon for engineering administration and contract monitoring of this project for $6,500. The total project cost is $486,020.
- Accepted a design proposal from Buchart Horn for a potential detention basin near the intersection of Pamela Ann and Billy Maher. The cost will be $16,400 for the design of three alternatives for one potential detention basin.
- Approved Resolution 31-15 to amend the 2015-2016 Fiscal Year Special Revenue School Fund Budgets of the Bartlett City Schools. The city’s approval is required for the school board’s General Purpose School Fund and other Special Revenue Fund budgets, and the school board approved a budget budget amendments to its FY2016 Special Revenue Fund budgets at its regular meeting on Oct. 22. - Approved the first reading of Ordinance 15-07, an ordinance to amend the penalties and fines for seat belt violations because of changes to the state law. The new ordinance states that such violations by adults are misdemeanors and the fine is $25 for first violations and $50 for all subsequent violations. It also states that violations by a minor age 16-17 incur a $25 fine. Violations that involve children between the ages of 5 and 15 will incur $50 fines. Violations that involve a child age 4 or younger will incur $50 fines.
